A month in the United States

It’s been a month since I arrived in the United States.

This article is about my survival experience in Chicago.

Jewel Osco is located very close to where I live – just a minute walk!!  Everything is HUGE.  The Parking Lot, Entrance and whatever is sold here and including the customers:-)

Even at my age, when I buy alcohol they ask me for my ID (a bit happy)

To all visitors:  Make sure to carry your passport when you go by beer 😊

Reunited with the kids!!  This photo is with a pretty, 6 year-old girl Alansa (isn’t she so cute?)

All the kids here are so adorable. Angels that can appear on TV commercials for childrens’ clothing.  The smiles from these kids gives me strength to fight through my days.  I want to make these kids happy through JUDO.

This brings me happiness

The magnificent night skyline of Chicago from a roof top bar

I truly believe that Downtown Chicago is beautiful.

The McDonald’s in the center which I thought was the worlds first McDonalds, which I understood later that it’s actually not…

I truly recommend this place when you visit Chicago!!

Councel General on his last day before his departure as an Embassador in Hong Kong, invited me as a guest. I wish for the best for him in his new challenge.  Of course, when I visit, he should treat me to the top notch Chinese Cuisine!!

The Library close to where I live.  This is only a fraction of the space, and it’s a huge place.

I will commute to this place 3 times a week for my English Lessons.  Residents are free of charge!! How wonderful.

View of Chicago from Lake Michigan.  So beautiful.

This day was the Water & Air Show!!  Many airplanes did steep climbs and dives, spins, etc.  An exciting show for 1 hour!!

I enjoyed the luxury of watching this show from a boat on the lake.

This is TACOS!!!

A family that comes to the dojo took me to Mexico Town on the west side of the city.  The authentic Tacos were delicious!!  $5.50 with this much is a great deal, but I know I’ll gain weight if I ate all this.  Dining out in the US is expensive, but this area is an expection.  This is a dangerous area – I won’t come alone 😊

My hometown Arlington Heights is a small town but very classy.  This is the restaurant street.  Most restaurants have open doors with patios.  The wonderful weather makes it a very popular location – all restaurants are filled with people!!  Loaded with variety of restaurants to include Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Thai, Korean and of course, a fake Japanese Restaurant↓

If you want a romantic dinner in the burbs, let me know 😊
