I participated in the All USA Judo Competition in Reno, Nevada that took place on May 15th and 16th. I was a 3.5 hour long flight from Chicago, but the main objective was to meet with the Chairman and the Executives of USA Judo (Keith Bryant) to request support for the O-1 Visa (Same VISA Type as Shohei Ohtani and Rui Hachimura). We had discussed about detailed conditions for this support, but it was the first time we met. I am not so good if it’s not on the TATAMI, being nervous, I met to request the above support.
The meeting with Keith was brilliant as my thoughts and his thoughts were in-line on how to teach judo to kids as well as the promotion of the sport in the United States. Together with the other Executives, they approved to invite me as in International Coach to the United States. Hurray!! My passion exceeded my language capability!!
Honestly, the past 18 months, I was really struggling with the VISA petition. The chance that was given was a light ant the end of a long tunnel. However, the VISA will be issued by USCIS. I do not have such a great background like Shohei Otani or Rui Hachimura, and on top of that, no one was granted a VISA from Judo. This, I can only hope for the best.
If an when the VISA is granted, I plan to hold Judo Clinics at various placed in the United States and create a lot of opportunities for kids where the sky is the limit for them.
While honoring the great encounter, I will work my best so that this will nourish.
